UNTIL NEXT YEAR!
The first annual Cape Cod Teen Writers Conference AND AUTHOR NIGHT (open to the public)! This program is a MUST for the ultimate teen storyteller who wishes to take his or her craft to the next level!
Registration IS FULL!
Brought to you by the generosity of the Marstons Mills Public Library, the Barnstable Public Schools, and Titcombs Bookshop, this five-day conference is for writers ages 13 to 19 and is limited to 20 students. The Conference classes are taught by Young Adult Urban Fantasy author K.R. Conway. Topics covered include opening lines, story pitches, plotting, writing in reverse, character development, voice, points of view, plot twists, writing tricks, dialog, action, motivation, villains, and world building.
Throughout the course of the five days, students will get to explore storytelling and their own writing styles in a creative, fun environment alongside other teens. By the end of the conference, students will be able to continue with their writing journeys, armed with the tricks of the trade and a rich group of fellow writers-turned-friends.
On the final day of the conference, students will assemble what they have learned and written onto displays. They will then return in the evening with their parents, family and friends to show off their work and enjoy a Young Adult Author Panel, featuring authors from all genres including Fantasy, Contemporary, Horror, Sci Fi, and more! Books will be available for purchase and signing after the panel (and, of course, pictures with the authors).
So . . . are you ready to rock your storytelling mind?
